Dual channel mode

So I have 2 (1gb x 2) gigs running in dual channel with my vista 32bit system.

If I add 2 more gigs, I know I'll only use ~3.3 gigs, but will the ram be running in dual channel mode?


What if I add another 1 gig (512 x 2)? Will this run in dual channel?



And will 3 gigs give me a noticable improvement over 2 gigs for games?

Yes both of your options will be dual channel. As for improving performance in games, that is hard to say. There are games that will run better, probably load faster, but not much better then with just two gigabytes of ram. Vista though, will get a performance boost .
