dual channel memory

im want to buy an asus k8v mobo, but i want to buy 2 512 sticks of ram, its cheaper to buy 2 512's of ddr ram than it is to buy 2 512's of single channel, and i figure if it works why not, then its more future proof right? but i know that my mobo only supports single channel ram, so im wondering if i buy dual channel ram, will it work in my computer?

Thanks Graeme

Yes, it will work. Dual channel kits are nothing more than two sticks tested to work together in dual channel. I've used "mismatched" sticks in dual channel and dual channel kits in single channel, they all work.
