Dual Channel DDR Memory

When setting up Dual channel DDR do both ram sticks have to be the same or do they have to be running at the same speed?

Please Help!!!!!

Thank you 🙂

They should both be the same for the best stability, but you may be able to get away with two different sticks. What motherboard are you using?

That increases your chances of it working because the nForce2 chipset is less picky about having identical sticks for dual channel. If it doesn't work, just put it in single channel, the difference is negligable.

That is on AMD platforms without integrated graphics. If you use integrated video or an Intel platform, dual channel gives a very nice boost.
