Dual Channel across 2 pairs of ram?

Let me try and clarify some of the ambiguity that may be surrounding the subject of this thread.

I currently have an ECS KN1 Extreme motherboard:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/P...peID=31&DetailID=492&MenuID=16&LanID=9

The manual states that it can support dual channel across the 4 DIMM slots, but I was curious as to whether or not this is true if you have 2 separate pairs of memory that when used separately can operate in dual channel.

I currently have 2 512MB DDR400 memory modules in dual channel mode. If I were to add, say, 2 1GB DDR400 modules to the remaining two slots would it all run together in dual channel?

I apologize if my descriptions were somewhat convoluted, but hopefully I was able to get the question across.

I appreciate any help.

it will. atleast on my mobo in sig it did. i used to have the mem thats for sale (4 sticks) in at once. it had to run at 2T but yes each pair did run in DC
