Dual Celerons?

Bateluer

Lifer
I am thinking about building a dualie setup with Celerons with my tax return.

I am looking at the Abit VP6 or the MSI 694DPRO, but neither of them lists dual celerons in their feature sets. Yet, the proper voltages and bus speeds are supported.

What are the odds to two Celeron 800s would function properly in either of these boards?

Not capable or not certified?

I know AMD's Athlon XP may be able to work in SMP, but they were not tested to function in that capacity like the Athlon MPs were.

Not capable. Coppermine and Tualatin Celerons have their SMP circuitry completely disabled.

Damn! You are getting a tax return? Damn, I have to pay over 2G's!!!!!

(lol, just venting...)

Yep, Celeries had the SMP capability 'surgically removed' if you know what I mean.

if you want dual celerons you'll have to go with a mobo like the BP6 and some 366@550's.
CuMine celerys won't do it

Too expensive. 366 Celerons are hard to find and and not cheap.

Oh well.

I guess, I will wait until after I get out of BMT and Tech school to build a dualie system
