The computers at my work are slow old Gateways with Celeron 400 processors and loud harddrives (i believe they are seagate). If i were to buy a dual celeron motherboard with raid capabilities would it be worth combining two of these Gateways together? If so, are there any recommendations of which motherboard is best? Any info would be appreciative. Thanks

Well, it really matters on which operating system you use. Windows 98/ME can only use 1 cpu. But NT/2000/XP , Linux, BeOS, and a few other OS's can use 2 CPUs. Then it may be worth it.

Are the CPUs Slot 1 or Socket 370? I once owned an Abit BP6 (socket 370) and it worked great, but I hear there are some problems with some of the boards. I just purchased a ECS D6VAA (dual socket 370) board, but havent' installed it yet.

THey are socket 370. Does either the BP6 or the D6VAA have raid? Does the D6VAA support dual celeron 400. I think i looked at that board but it said it only supports dual PIII's.

So i would have to run windows 2000 for it to work, eh?
