Dual Boot Win2K/Win ME Problem

How do I edit the boot select menu? I was looking for the boot.ini file and it's not around. I now I can select what OS is default from the Win 2K options for startup but I wanna rename them. Anyone got any ideas?

I am planning to install these two OS's on a new computer. Any suggestions on which to install first? I know that it was pretty easy to install NT4 after win98, but i didn't know if Win 2k works any differently.

Also, anyone use Bootmagic or any other dual boot programs? Are they worth it over the standard dual boot?

I installed 98 first, then 2000, then ME. ME is smart enough to not destroy the loader, it just sets ME to the default value.

For me, Windows 2000 was a lot easier to install once I already had an OS in place, so go for ME first.

To make Shudder's case clearer, I don't think he's running both Win98 and ME. I think he upgraded Win98 to ME with the Win2K install in between. Please correct me if I am wrong. 🙂

To my knowledge, Win98 and WinME cannot natively be installed on the same workstation. A third-party boot manager like System Commander or BootMagic must be used.

Sorry about the confusion.

I put 98 on. Then I put on 2000 so I was dual booting. I then upgraded 98 to WinME.
