I have ran Ubuntu for several years then I actually bought a premade computer with windows 7. I have had a few issues with it, but want to keep it. This is mainly for the Boy scout web site (which only likes IE) and and maybe mine craft which my son plays.

The last time I setup a dual boot Ubuntu installer gave me the option and just took care of setting things up. I have a separate partition that Ubuntu is installed to but it never installed grub or another boot loader.

Any guidance would be appreciated. I have also considered going to Mint, but I am not sure that would help here.

Thanks

If you want to set up a dual boot Ubuntu /Win7 on a computer where Win7 is already installed, just pop in the Ubuntu Disc, and let it setup the dual boot for you.

I has worked flawlessly the times I have tried it.

I have tried it a couple of different ways, installing along side of windows were it takes care of the details and the something else options were I do and it installs fine, just doesn't set up a boot loader in either case so it just boots to windows. Maybe install grub manually or windows boot loader. I will have to do some digging to see how to do that.

That's one way to do it :^D

Would IEtab in Firefox work for your website? I've never used that. You could also bitch at the organization. A non profit especially shouldn't rely on proprietary software, and require it to avail yourself of their services.

You would think they should be tied down. I am going to try a couple of alternatives before trying something drastic. It good to be back to linux, windows sucks
