Dual boot to single boot problems

I had a dual boot system with linux on one hard drive and windows on the other. I was being careless and I deleted the linux harddrive which had the information about choosing the os upon bootup. So even though windows is still there even if i tell it to boot from the windows harddrive it doesn't work. How can I fix this so i can boot into windows again?
Thanks,
Stephen

Is there anyway I can just secure erase the hard drive from this point? I just want to be able to give it to someone else without worrying about them getting information.

Put in your XP cd and go to recovery mode then type 'fixmbr'. It might be 'fixmbr c:\'. After restart you should be loading windows on boot.
