Someone told me a while back that win98 doesn't utilize dual style boards only win2k and *nix does..

Is this true??

Win98 will run on a dual board, but only recognizes a single
processor...The second processor will sit there idle.

If you want to use dual processors and have your OS recognize
them, in the Windows world you are limited to NT4 or Win2000.
Win9x and WinMe aren't SMP aware.

Win9X does not utilize or recognize dual-processor setups. It will behave exactly as if there was only one processor in there, if you have a dual processor Win9X system that one processor is always sitting idle doing absolutely nothing.

Various flavours on *nix and Win NT4 and Win2000 will recognize and fully utilize multiprocessor systems.
