Only the AMD 760MP and 760MPX.

You might want to have a look at the boards from Tyan, or the ASUS A7M266-D.

Tyan Tiger MP (S2460) is a great board. I'm using one now as a server with a couple of XP 1600's. One of the most stable setups I've ever had.

If you don't need a 64/66 PCI slot (for SCSI RAID or something), then you probably want to take a look at the Tiger MP, if its features suit you. I think it has onboard NIC and thats it.

I use a similar setup with a Tyan s2640 (Tiger MP) and a pair of Athlon XP 1500+'s, and I must say that the board is rock solid, yet fast and simple. I use Globalwinn WBK38's for HSF's, and an Enermax 465fc for the PSU. (Might want to be careful with Enermax PSU's, I've been plagued with low 5 volt rail problems) Good luck!

Does the Tyan Tiger have 4 mobo holes around each of the sockets in case I wanted to try smacking PAL8045's on it? Is there adaquet clearance around the socketS?

There is a $50 off $200 coupon at the Gateway accessory store that should make buying a Tyan board (or anything else) a more pleasant experience. The S2466N (Tyan+MPX+LAN?) was $231 this morning before said coupon.

-SUO, tempted myself

No onboard NIC.

No holes on the Tiger MP.

<< what HSFs you plop on your Tyan? And what PSU? >>

I'm using a couple of Taisol heatsinks with Panaflo L1a's. Power supply is an Antec 300W in a SX1030.

I've also got the Tyan Tiger MP running dual Athlon MP 1600+ cpu's and I couldn't be more pleased with the stabilty and robustness of the setup.

if your building a server, are you dead set on AMD??

i just recently built a server using the Tyan S2505 Dual PIII 1.13 ghz board.

it has dual lan and ati vid card built in(its fine for server if ur not gonna do any gaming). also had promise raid (only raid 0, 1 possible) built in. board was around $200 i believe.

uses SDR ram, not DDR.

but very solid and stable.
