Dual 19" 4:3 monitors or 1 24" wide screen?

I take one big screen as oppose to 2 smaller ones. That's just my preference. However, that is because I game most of the time. If you're doing a lot of excel sheets, word processing and stuff other than gaming then you can look into two smaller LCDs.

Just general computing, web browsing, some gaming, some TV/DVD watching. A little bitof everything really, but not one thing in general. I woudl say web browsing is the 1 thing I spend the most time doing.

I LOVE my Dell LCD, it's a dream for gaming and normal desktop usage... though I will admit a bit of overkill for my needs 🙂

Get 2 19", for what you do it'll be the best option. You can watch TV/DVDs in one full screen and browse the web/game on the other. I'd suggest dual 19" widescreens though. Better for gaming and DVDs.

it is entirely personal preference really. I have a 24" and it is absolutely marvelous for watching DVDs. you win either way really.

I understand it is personal preferance, but I have never used a 24" or dual 19's before, so I was just looking for others opinions, good to hear you like your 24". What brand is it?

The first time you pop in a movie or a game you'll wish you didn't have a gap up the center. Stick with a single (or at least triple lol!), I paid 1400 for my samsung, and its top notch, extreme definition and vibrant in color, but i believe that Dell's new ones are quite a bargain now, and quite fast as well.

For multimedia/browsing/gaming, go with the 24" screen, especially since the decision is between 2-19" vs. 1-24"; if you were trying to decide between 2-20" vs. 1-24", I would still go with the larger panel, but would not mind the two 20" monitors either. 12x10 is just not enough desktop space for me, even in dual config- I would rather buy a single 20" and add another 20" when funds allowed.

If you did a lot of work where it would be advantageous to separate things (i.e. spreadsheets) and planned to use the monitors primarily for work, dual 19" would be OK. In your case though, I would definitely go with a 24" panel. I have used 17", 19", and 20" LCDs, and now run a 2405 with a 2001FP. The 2001FP is turned on only when I have work to do- for everyday browsing or gaming, the 2405 is the choice, hands-down.

Going from a 19" (12x10) to a 20" (16x12) was a HUGE difference- going from 20" to 24" (19x12) was equally as impressive. There is no way I would ever go back to anything less than 16x12 (or 16x10 WS).

1x 24 cuz u can't game with 2 x 19, you'll only be able to use 1 of them to game, and that'll only give u 19" of viewing... with the 24 u get a full 24 of gaming
