DTS: X® Ultra How does it work? Does it work via HDMI?

as usual operating manual not poorly written and does not explain anything well!

1. DTS: X® Ultra works on the z590-aorus-master motherboard
with a built-in video card in an 11900K processor HDMI 2.0 ?
or through SPIDF?

2. is it possible to connect to the receiver and get 7.1.4?

3. does it turn 2 channels into DTS: X ?

4. DTS: X that only works with HDMI 2.0
why are nothing listed in the operating instructions?

SPDIF is a maximum of 2 channel PCM (uncompressed).

beyond 2 channels it can do 6/8 channel (5.1/7.1) compressed audio.

SPDIF does not support any advanced object-based codecs (Like DTS:X and Dolby Atmos).

HDMI with eARC capability is what you want.
2. is it possible to connect to the receiver and get 7.1.4?
If you have that many speakers in your setup and the receiver supports it, yes.

3. does it turn 2 channels into DTS: X ?
2 channel, 4 channel, 6 channel and 8 channel audio tracks will be upmixed to whatever size your DTS:X/Atmos setup is, so if you have 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 or something crazier, all kinds of audio input should upmix properly without issue.

4. DTS: X that only works with HDMI 2.0
why are nothing listed in the operating instructions?

from my experience, windows is pretty bad overall for surround sound audio, it's only really improved relatively recently.

eARC NOT what i want
eARC is a connection to watch movies through the screen as the sound goes to the receiver
I wrote here that there is no intentional real eARC

this is again not true, Windows works well in sound
but requires a quality receiver that costs money like the Denon 6500 minimum
that requires processing power to a minimum of 5.1.4.

unfortunately all sound cards on the motherboard are of poor quality
and weak

Unfortunately there is no audiophile sound card via HDMI
and very unfortunate

I'm not sure how you plan to get DTS:X working WITHOUT HDMI considering that's the only thing it'll work on.

What else are you trying to do? Windows 10 HDMI output (either motherboard or dGPU depending on your hardware), go to your TV, then TV into your receiver.

Bobs your uncle and you have full uncompressed DTS:X/DTS-HD MA/Dolby TrueHD/Dolby Atmos

If you actually give a description of what you're trying to do instead of just random bullet point questions that don't specify really much of anything, I might be able to offer better advice.

DTS:X and Atmos do NOT work over analog, they do NOT work over SPIDF. They only work over HDMI.

The OP doesn't really ask questions. They make statements thinly disguised as questions, and then tell you are incorrect when someone answers them. Just take a look at their posting history, and see what happens when someone responds.

Just let them buy $1800 Decon receiver since that is the "minimum", and because all motherboards have "poor quality and weak" audio.

this is the problem man claims without realizing that DTS-X can be achieved with SPDIF
and that is a mistake in my opinion

your whole answer is again unrelated to me and confused
not related to my question
you find all kinds of articles online that have nothing to do with my question

you're talking about yourself again trying to work on me buy RAM for $ 1500 +++
that every memory in $ 400 and less does the same job

Instead of hiding in shame you keep threatening!
and lie again

and after he is caught lying he tells idiot stories

You're clearly an idiot
yes you are right you are an idiot!

4. DTS: X that only works with HDMI 2.0

i first wrote this sentence
and you distort reality and lie again!

I'm not sure how you plan to get DTS:X working WITHOUT HDMI considering that's the only thing it'll work on.

I'm not planning anything!
i totally asked how a motherboard manufacturer gives a driver for DTS-X
which has only a SPIDF connection

before answering a question one needs to understand the question
and you do not understand and complain that you have no knowledge of what you write?

that you search on Google, you bring information unrelated to the question
and crying you do not know?

The board has support for DTS:X Ultra which is an app for providing spatial sound effects to headphones and PC speakers. The app probably allows for remixing of DTS:X audio to any PC speaker configuration plugged in through 3.5mm. If you want to send a DTS:X signal to your TV or receiver you need to add a GPU with HDMI which will then passthrough the signal.

sorry to say I do not understand why the betting of what is it ?

this is a question for those who have the appropriate hardware
this is not a casino or lottery, this is a question for those who have the hardware!
It's a question of who tried it

DTS:X audio to any PC speaker configuration plugged in through 3.5mm

you can not transfer DTS-X with a 3.5mm cable
DRM tuned to HDMI only
there are standards, cables cannot be invented

DTS:X signal to your TV or receiver you need to add a GPU with HDMI

I have a 2070 video card and I transfer DTS-X to it

the question is relatively simple and accurately listed
for those who have the hardware

Spatial sound formats are often capable or remixing standard surround formats for headphones or whatever surround speaker setup you have.

I don't need to have your specific motherboard to know how spatial formats, surround processing, and audio passthrough works.

you can not transfer DTS-X with a 3.5mm cable
DRM tuned to HDMI only

I didn't say you could send DTS-X over 3.5mm. I was explaining what DTS:X Ultra is for. You are conflating DTS:X Ultra (Windows application for audio spatialization) with DTS:X (multi-dimensional object-based surround audio codec). Take a moment to recognize the difference.

DTS:X Ultra is intended for use with headphones and PC speakers. PC speakers are typically analog and connect through 3.5mm, with mixing handled by Windows. The most common setups are 2.x and 5.x, but some older sets were 4.x and 7.x. DTS:X Ultra should remix any standard surround audio format to match your setup, or at least for the most common setups.

I have a 2070 video card and I transfer DTS-X to it

If you have HDMI, why would your ever consider SPDIF for a surround format? If you are playing a game, DTS:X Ultra should map audio cues from the game to your specific speaker setup. If you are watching a movie which contains audio encoded in DTS:X, then the app you are using to play the movie passes the DTS:X signal through HDMI to your receiver, or first decodes it and sends it as PCM. DTS:X Ultra doesn't do anything. Your motherboard doesn't do anything. Your GPU doesn't do anything other than pass the audio signal alongside the video signal over HDMI.

You don't have to spend $2, 500 on a Denon x6500h. According to the Audio Science Review rankings, you'll get better sound quaility out of the x3600h and the x3700h (they run about $1500). You can put the $1,000 savings towards speakers for a 5.1.4 speaker system to listen to DTS-HD MA/Dolby TrueHD lossless audio (the minimum required for good DTS-X/Dolby Atmos). Just my 2c. However, i agree with Roynani. It won't make a difference since "there are no audiophile sound card via HDMI".

Why are you necroing nearly year-old threads? This is the third one you necro'd. What is your point in doing so? Especially since the original poster hasn't been back for months (and was basically a troll anyways)?

I forgot all about this poster.

He seemed like such a pleasant individual. It's too bad he didn't stick around. :p

Honestly, I've found that most of the streaming apps like Hulu/Disney+/YouTube etc do not support the extended surround codecs yet like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. You should probably look into that before you go nuts configuring it, because you might find that you have no content that supports it.

That's what I ran into when I tried to get my Dolby Atmos soundbar working with my new 4K TV, anyway. The best I could get was 5.1 in most streaming platforms that were compatible with my TV.
