I have Mirage FRx 7s, center and rears in my family room paired with a 10" Velodyne CHT-10 sub. Sounds nice.

Mirage makes some nice, warm sounding speakers.

Sweet. If anything I'd have to disagree with you. THis thigns are nery neutral, making everything sound fantastic.

The sound I heard out of them during this move however proves you right right in this respect. The soundtrack was the best thing I can remember hearing.

That's what "warm" is. Natural. Not tinny.

my bad...I just wanted to express how they seem to dissapear when you play music. YOu hear music, not a speaker..if you get my drift.

Warm will do.

Still, Paradigms are supposed to be a little bright, so what I have right now never tampers with the sound and that is what I like.

Get the Mirages that way they will be matched. Makes a big difference when you have sounds moving through the soundstage.

I'm not too sure.
It does look pretty when my Sony receiver has this blue light that comes on when it decodes it in DD or DTS :)

Dunno, but I have found DD to sound better on some discs, and DTS on others.

It's all in the mixing....

All I know is that DTS has a higher resolution than DD. I jsut for got the bit depths.

Uh oh. Here we go. ;) Should I bring someone from HTF over to lay out the details as to the differences between each format? ;)

And it all matters how compressed they are on the disc. Just like video, they compress the audio as well. And if it's done too much, or badly, it suffers.

Oh gawd! Not the never ending debate of DTS vs DD. It's as bad as Intel vs AMD and nVidia vs ATI.

In this case however, DTS is better.
