Go and play with both in the store. They are comparable on paper, but what really matters is if you enjoy taking pictures with them. Hell, while you are there, play around with all the other cameras. You may find something else more suitable for your needs. There is no point in buying a big SLR if you won't be using it often.

Picked up a used D200 for $200 today.

Go used; you get more value.

Craigslist. And it was legit (not stolen); it came complete with the box & papers from the original owner. 10,000 actuations on the shutter. It definitely needed a little TLC (had some crud sprayed across the body), but after maybe 30 minutes of cleaning with some Q-Tips and isopropyl alcohol, it looks like new.

It'll be a fun second body for my manual focus AI lenses, since it will actually meter them. I find myself loving cameras as much as I love photography itself.

people are getting rid of D80 to replace it with D90, you can get a deal on a used D80. that would be better than D60. you want in-body motor for AF.

Sorry for a little bit of a thread terd, but do you guys think it would be worth it for me to upgrade a D50 to a D80?

Yes, or a D200.
