dsl upgrade

Hope this is the right fourm. I would like to move from dialup to dsl. The puter i built uses a xp-2400+ on a m7vif bioStar mb. So I need a ethernet card,dsl modem and service. Any recommendations on what components to get? dsl should be ok cause my next door neighbour has it and I'am about 5 blocks away from a phone co.switching infrastructure for this side of town. I'll be purchasing from newegg. 🙂

Any PCI NIC will do.

Since it is DSL get yourself aninexpensive Router even if it is one computer.

Why? DSL PPPOE and Cable/DSL Routers.

Look around at retail stores before signing up directly through SBC or another vendor. Retailers often have special promotions with high speed vendors where you save money, get free hardware, and/or gift cards. Look at Circuit City, Best Buy, Office Depot, Staples etc. Do a search and you can find their respective websites where you can see their promotions for your address online.
