What would be a good DSL speed for streaming video and it not be choppy? I currently have express from u-verse, but it doesn't cut the mustard when watching Hulu, etc. I'm going to upgrade the U-verse service, but I don't want to go overboard. U-Verse has the following:

express - download of 1.5 Mbps
Pro - download of 3.0 Mbps
elite - download of 6.0 Mbps
max - download of 12.0 Mbps
max plus - download of 18.0 Mbps

I have the at&t elite dsl and it rarely bogs down, then again I'm sharing the connection with 3 systems, son, daughter and myself.

With 6Mbit DSL I share with 5 systems, usually 2 or 3 streaming video and it works great. If there isn't a huge price difference then go with 6.

Is UVerse ADSL2+? I have ADSL2+ from an ISP on AT&T's copper and their offerings match those listed above but AT&T only offers up to 6Mbps/768Kbps ADSL here.

In ANY home where it's more than 2 boxes / lappy's, 3 + is the way to go.. after that, add an additional Mb to every other device...this is to avoid network bogs and possibly headaches when EVERY device is connected...^like that post said as well that Jack has, upstream DOES matter.

Cepak, those data rates are "maximums" for the price. You won't necessarily get rates that high.
