DSL setup help please!!!

I just received my DSL stuff in the mail on friday. I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me out.

I have all my phone lines homerun to the basement, with a feed from the outside going to the hub that the phones are connected to. Instead of using a filter at every phone I have, couldn't I just run the feed to a splitter. Then run one line to the DSL modem (then to a linksys DSL router), with the other going to a filter before going to the hub that all the other phones are connected to. Would this work?

Yes, that would work fine. I have a filter in the basement, on the feed to all the phones, and a seperate unfiltered feed, to the DSL Modem.
 
Did you just buy a little splitter from radio shack? (Its just has one jack on one end and 2 on the other, doesn't really say spliltter)
