DSL/Router problem

After hooking up Linksys router, I'm now unable to open about 10% of of the Web Sites I used to be able to with no problem. I don't get any kind of message, the page simply won't open. Updating the latest firmware didn't help. Any suggestions?

Yes reboot means power down and back on.

Have you tried switching back to not using the router and see if you can access the sites again? I can't think of anything the router would be doing by default to stop any sites from working. Usually you only run into problems with things like AIM or IRC file transfers.

Thanks. Yeah, I've rebooted both modem and router several times in the last few days and redone the router setup each time. The sites I'm unable to access are big ones, like Bank of America or ShieldsUp--sites that I'm sure are still active. All to say that to reinstall my PPOE software, check that the sites will open, then uninstall the software and do the router setup again is a bit of a pain.

But it DOES sound strange that some 90% of the pages I regularly access open with no problem, but a few won't.

i have a linksys router, and i leave my PPOE software installed and i can access all sites.

P.S. this might get some better responses in the Networking Forum.

To clear IE cache:
Click Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > Check "Delete all offline content" then ckick OK.

If that does not fix it then:
Click Tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings...
Make sure none of the configuration or proxy settings are checked.
