Hello everyone, just got my dsl modem today from winfire. I guess their service is not as bad as i thought it would be. Connecting at 1,536,000 bps. Finally got rid of the old fashion 56k modem. What a new year resolution!!!

I signed up seven months ago but still cant get it. I hope it isn't as bad as people say when i do get it. I have heard alot of bad things.

OSushiO:

What is the plan you sign up for ??

Is that the speed you actually get when downloading a file ??

I signed up for the $20 dollar a month plan.

the plan i signed up for is also $20.00. However, i think quality of the phone line also plays an important role during downloading. I was downloading directx 8.0 today, at one point i was downloading at 100k a sec. Well, i guess i could be lucky.

Damn... I recently got 'activated' but they haven't sent out the package yet, and I haven't received my modem yet that I ordered from another place...

Hope the service is good... how's the stupid toolbar?

Yeah.. think the easiest way to get rid of the toolbar and ads (if you went for the free service) is to set up a server and run your comps through the server... but I don't want to leave a comp on. So going the router route...

Thank God you don't have Telocity DSL. I do, but it's pretty much the best broadband thing I have going. "My Telocity" DSL is down more than it is up. I can get Road Runner too, but it's choked big time on the uplink. I still retain a trusty 56K ISP account for backup when Telocity does it's daily crash.
