Depends.
I work for verizon, heh. Not the best company to deal with.
Dsl should technically be faster and in many cases it is.
But its really streatching what that copper can do.
Especially in heavily populated, older regions.
I personally have cable. Fast, cheap, cake to swindle techs.
Eventually cable will be banded, each household has its own frequency.
That would eliminate many problems

But if I was really close to the CO, I would go for a high speed SDSL connection.
Static Ips, and guaranteeded bandwidth.
