it's a 2wire modem with service to sbc dsl. lately, the internet has crashed frequently (read: blinking orange light) and then it comes back up momentarily. it either comes back on by itself or i have to pull the plug on it for it to fix. is there anything i can do/try besides switching service?

Are you using ZoneAlarm?

I have Verizon DSL, but I know ZoneAlarm killed my connection regularly.

I am having a similar problem. I have the exact modem. Just a while ago, the orange light began to blink. I had to pull the plug on the modem. But most of the time, the Local Are Network light would go out, causing me to unplug the modem. It happens frequently.

You may have a bad modem. I know mine is. I am actually still waiting for SBC to send me a new modem! Been over 1 and a half months already! :|

And you know what? The orange light began to blink AGAIN as I was typing this up. I unplugged the modem, and plugged it back in to get it working.

I could, but there is one thing. I would want the same modem. The reason is, is that my sisters laptop can connect to it wirelessly. Our wireless Netgear Router was acting up everytime we tried connecting to it. Then, a member hear on AT, named tiap, found out that I can connect to the modem wirelessly. Havent had problems connecting to it wirelessly. Can't thank him enough! 🙂

I am not very smart when it comes to these things. Are there any other modems that can do this? 🙂
