i signed up for dsl through earthlink in late august and its still not working. Verizon has been out here 4 times and they still can't get it working. ITS KILLING ME. I NEED MY INTERNET. NO online gaming no nothing.

You need to tell us what the problem is first. Usually those tech don't know jack. I have seen tech coming to installs services and they have to ask how to do this and that.
 
No its not any comp problems.
Its just that verizon has come out 4 times to install a data line, and each time they have not been able to get it up to "quality standards" I hate this bull. what can i do
 
I had the same problem with Earthlink, they kept sending meemails with "Confirmed Delivery Dates" since last Aug, and never came. I finally got fed-up and canceled the order, and ordered direct from Verizon, that was two days ago, I just got all the equiptment, adsl modem, filters, etc. today, my service will be activated this week-end.

Also, I'm in NYC, I found out Earthlink routes all its connections through its servers in Atlanta, which should slow the connection. Verizon is less then a 1/4 mile from my house, AND $10.00 a-month LESS than earthStink😛
 
I called earthlink today, supposedly the problem before was that there was an open loop. Now, there is a busy pair. Anyone actually know what these mean? they have a scheduled delivery for next tuesday again. 4th time. should i wait and see. its already been 2 months. what do you think?
