hello everyone, i am sharing dsl thru 2 computers using a switch and windows me internet sharing. I've connected 1 network card to the dsl modem and the other network card to the hub. i also connected another network card to my other computer. i followed the network wizard on win me and i have entered the ip address 192.168.0.2 to the client computer, as well as a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, but it still doesnt work, can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? thanks....

did you set a default gateway? And I believe that you have to set the IP address of the system with 2 NIC's as the IP address of your DNS server in the other computer.

Hope that helps!

Itran, try sygate, i tried it recently and i was really impressed. It kicks ass, its at www.sygate.com.

I dont know if they support win ME, but u could go check. Plus they have a setup on Sygate where u dont need 2 nic on host. All you need is one nic card on each machine.

Or just get a cable/dsl router, just ordered mine today. +)

yes i did set the gateway default, and the ip address by the host was automatically matching the ip w/ the client (win me does it automatically) and its a static ip address, and i believe sygate does not work w/ win me...any other suggestions? thanks...

hmm... check if your setup match this:

Server:
IP - 192.168.0.1
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - gateway of ISP
DNS - DNS of ISP

Client:
IP - 192.168.0.2
Subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway - 192.168.0.1
DNS - DNS of ISP

Also make sure they are in the same workgroup (spelling counts!) but have an unique name...
