Anybody here give any recommendations on highspeed in central Ohio?

Service/$??


modems suck.

Central ohio is basically Columbus, and RoadRunner is available there. Decent service I guess.

Edit: Just saw your from columbus, so yeah, you're stuck with RR. Not sure about DSL, but avoid wireless DSL. It's flaky at best, and hard to configure.

Yea its either insight or RR in Columbus. They capped the download speed but it seems alot more steady now since they did. Its rarely down either.

Fast upload speeds though. I hit about 60k/sec or so off of FTP sites on RR columbus.

Hmmm, nobody using dsl here?

Also, how much are you guys paying for your rr service & what were your startup costs?

Using earthlink, 50/month with no installation fee (self installation). max download speed around 150-160 KB/s

jbah - what was entailed in your installation & is old inhouse phone wiring an issue?

the phone wiring in my apt has bell's signature on it...

I live in an apt building and the installation package included the filter, arescom dsl modem and some cable for the modem.

$40 a month for RR if you have TW cable. Think the deal now is free install and first 2 months are $20 each. NEVER pay for a cable modem install, they are always running a free install special.

isn't rr around 50/mo if you aren't a cable subscriber?

please tell me that there is someone offering one of these for less than 50/mo...
