I have been using DSL for a while and after several tweakings, and purchasing Broadband Wizard, my dsl seems slow. On downloads it never goes over 150kbps. It said that my service is at 1.5mbps, but it is 10x slower. Any suggestions, or should I buy a new dsl modem.:|
 
You divide by 8 to convert from mb to MB then you multiply by 1024 (corrected 🙂) to get KB. 1.5mbps comes to somewhere around 190. My friend's Telocity account got him 180K/sec. My Pacbell got me about 160K/sec.
 
O thanks. But still want to know which is the best dsl modem, i don't care price too much. My Westell Wirespeed provided by my Dsl provider really sucks, it freezes after 5 hours of using. Any suggestions of a better one?
 
150k? and your complaining..........most of my friends who are on DSL get no higher than 70k for d/ls.....but they upload at over 40k......Im on att@home.......download at around 170k-220k........upload at 30k........go cable..........you'll be happy 😉

No, only the connection freezes. This is quite annoying to me since after I press control alt delete and end task it, i can't use dsl without rebooting.
