i'm switching my internet connection from dail-up to DSL in next two weeks and wondering what type of network card i should go purchase. Can someone recommend which or what specific brand or model of network card I should buy for my DSL connection to achieve its peak performance?

thanks.

Thank you all for your reply and recommendations. I'm so amazed that this fourm responds so quick.

So the conclusion is that all compatible network card will work equally fine right?! I can just randomly choose one from Intel, 3Com, Netgear, Realtek, and linksys and there's no issues concerning drivers, performance, or stability, right?!

thanks again.

nothing is a guaranteed lock...using Win98(hope its at least SE..) there are some better ..some worse..some due to hardware..some due to driver support..with Win98..go with a name brand..Linksys,Netgear, Intel or 3com...noticed Realtek off there..;) whichever card you go with make sure you have the latest drivers from the manufacturer..before you need them
!

thanks again.

Welcome...

Actually the chepest name brand would be best...

Even check staples or best buy for something as minor as a NIC...

Good Luck!
