4door with 18' wheels, ipod, DSG

They got it for me from some other dealer in the area, gave me a great deal for it as well.

what was the price?

did you get leather package?

Wow that sounds like a really good deal since you got the dsg, four door and wheels. Each are usually over a grand on top of 22000

Looks like three of us have R32s...woohoo! 😀

Got an internet quote for 23,445. Car is United Grey, 2 drs, DSG, 18" huffs with pirellis and ipod adapter. I was also only able to get 1% since I'm a first time buyer... What do you guys think

The ipod adapter is the most useless POS ever put into a vehicle, I think its the worst iteration of ipod integration ever, they should have just left it as an aux in. See if you can get them to go down to 23k flat, sounds like a good deal.

He won't budge. I offered him 23 flat and he was like...i brought this car from another dealer and had to do paperwork and fees or some crap.. and this is the lowest i'll go and if you don't like it then walk because i'm already below my invoice by 1000.

Do you think this is a good deal? It's under invoice, which is supposed to be good, but i'm also paying 1% (i guess there's no way out of that if i'm going to start building my credit). I just feel uneasy because there's no concrete line that says, you got a good deal. I can compare to others, but there are a lot more variables to consider that would probably keep me from getting that price. Like PhokinGuy got a pretty good deal in my opinion, the only diff is he has four doors....gah stupid cars.

I would probably take it before the Special Financing for the month of July is over.

I had a deal on the table for a 2dr DSG with Premium Audio System for 23,725 (invoice) with a possibility of 0% financing and paid first month's payment with VW's College Grad Program. I turned it down since I wasn't ready to commit. However, if the same deal rolls along in August, I'll probably jump on it.

Not only are you getting it for a lower price but with additional options, so that's a win in my book. It's a great deal no matter what you may believe.

Edit: I see that you just made a post on golfmkv.com. It's a great site with tons of information. Good luck!

Oh, yeah haha the people on that forum seem really down to earth and not angsty teens. I think it's a pretty decent deal as well. But, i can't help but feel like it could get cheaper (even if it can't). I'm reasonable, but i think i don't want to be a fool more than i want to be reasonable.

its pretty good, honestly. I'd jump on it if you really want it since their financing will be over in a couple days.

kudos to you for snagging two extra doors for 250 each  (compared to my quote)

It emulates a CD changer, so you cannot see the name/artist of the song playing, just the track number. Additionally, you cannot browse artists/albums, only play playlists that it gets from your premade ones, and only 99 songs in each one.

Wow, that is beyond horrid. Good God. Guess I'll be making lots of playlists =(. I was going to use my spare 30gb ipod as a song bank and just leave it in my car. Guess it won't be as cool as I thought.

I dont even use it to be honest, I split my time 90% Sirius and 10% MP3 CD, which actually lists the song name and artist, and you can browse folders

I got a 2008 United Grey 4 dr, 17", DSG, Sunroof for about the same back in October 2007.

Just picked it up! I'm coming from a 97 civic and this seems like a pretty big upgrade in terms of everything. I picked up the car for what they quoted me last night and there weren't any weird fees that were snuck in. I pretty much payed and will be paying what i calculated last night (in terms of the OTD price and interest). The guy was really cool to talk to and straight forward so it was a pleasure (this is the sunnyvale VW) to work with him. Thanks for the discussion you guys! Maybe those of us with GTIs could meet up if you're down south!

Congrats... maybe I'll join you in the owners' club someday. 🙂

Congrats. Take it easy on the car for the first 5K. Do the first oil change then you can start driving it harder. After the 2nd oil change at 10K you'll be golden.

How do you like the DSG?

I'm really happy with the DSG at this point. Not once have I felt, "damn, this thing feels so sluggish and/or boring". I was especially happy with the choice when i hit a bunch of traffic yesterday. Yeah, it's been kind of hard but i've kept the rpms low (when i was in manual mode) and have pretty much have been babying this thing. I've been getting around 29mpg with mixed driving (more highway). Overall, I really enjoy this as my first new car purchase...thanks for the advice. I'm going to highly maintain this thing and hope to keep it operating well to avoid any VW reliability issues that plague the brand.

mmm, I passed on a DSG 2.0T GTI the other day...got an audi A4 2.0T 6MT instead...the DSG was nice, 0-60 in 6 seconds is neat, but I really preferred the interior of the Audi...and quattro.
