DS3 hard drive problem

I finally got my Core 2 Duo system up and running. I have an 80gb sata hard drive that is working fine. However my 200gb ide hard drive isnt being recognized. When its set to master my dvd drive (set to slave) wont work and xp freezes up. When my hard drive is set to cable select or slave with the dvd drive set to master everything works fine except the hard drive still isn't recognized. Any ideas on what to do? Thanks.

nobody here actually like to help noobies w/ technical problems. it's totally against their jerkofficer nature.

i've also had this problem, but w/ a dvdrw and an ata slave hdd. it happened after i installed the stock gigabyte drivers. good luck, wish i wcould be of more help.

What bios are you using? Did you load the JMicron drivers?

I'm using bios F3 and I'm not sure if I loaded those drivers. Were they on the CD?

I updated the bios to F4 and installed the drivers but still no luck.

Have you tried the HD alone on the IDE cable set as Master?
