DS - my lifeline

I had to go on a train journey yesterday. It was like, leave at 3am in the morning and be back home by 10pm in the evening. The train journey was some 4 - 5 hours one-way. So, that means total 8 - 10 hours traveling.

I am so glad that I brought my DS for the trip. I have Luminous Arc 2 with me, and I really enjoyed it. I think I progressed through 3 chapters or so. (I was doing some of the side-quests too) The journey there didn't even feel that long. 🙂

Coming back I was watching "Ragnarok the Animation" (I use moonshell). An entertaining way to spend time.

It was then that I realized one BIG difference between the PSP and DS. You can keep the DS straight up on a table and lean back. It was like having a mini-TV with me on the trip. For a movie, I guess the PSP has a better screen and a lot more color, but I don't think you can keep it up vertically.

I used head-phones, so it didn't bother anyone else. As long as I have time to prepare for a long-trip (encode my anime to watch on DS), now I'm actually looking forward for the next trip. 🙂

Never heard of MoonShell but it looks cool. What memory card did you buy and where did you get it?

What program have you found works best for converting videos to watch on the DS?

I think Handbrake can encode videos for the DS if you set up the parameters correctly.

My friend has a case that holds the PSP like that... adds bulk, of course.

I ordered it from another site though. I think it was reallyhotdeals.com or something like that. I don't remember it now. (Nearly a year back)

I find SUPER video converter the best. (along with K-lite installed) I think the download link is here,

The site is horrible to navigate, but I think the link is at the bottom of that page. I like it because they have an output setting for DS video. I don't need to setup/change any settings. It's all there, ready for me! 🙂

What's missing for me now though, is a pouch. I want a belt pouch that I can keep my DS in (along with some carts). Also, if it can store the charger and my mobile phone it would be great. Any suggestions?
