ds lite red light?

when i try to charge my ds lite a red light flashes for 1 second then disappears, the ds lite wont turn on. Ive tried other batteries but none seem to be working, does anyone know a fix for this?
 
Tried other batteries?

As in opened up your DS and swapped out li-on batteries?

No wonder it doesn't work.

just one little tiny screw holds the battery cover on.
