lol I'll make this sounds like a beer comercial

true.

Somebody at work made one of those in the dish room when I was working one time.
Of course I had no idea this was going on, and I was just minding my business.
Scared the sh!t out of me!

There's another one around somewhere of some rocket scientists mixing ammonia and alcohol for the same effect. Well, almost the same... instead of pool water going all over the place, I imagine it was one of the kid's hands that was spewing blood all over the place when it blew up in his hand. I recently pressurized an empty 2 liter bottle at 100psi and shot it through a piece of plywood. (oops!) And, I've seen a photo somewhere recently on 2liter bottle rocke sites that showed a shirt ripped to shreds - the shirt had covered a bottle shortly before it exploded.

I've got that one, but the resolution sucks.

😀

Certainly there are more interesting things to do with liquid nitrogen than blowing up 2 liter bottles.
Hmmm.. I wonder what would happen though... Would the super-cooled plastic in the bottle have a lower bursting pressure than 150-160 psi?

Well he does work with superconductors. Unfortunately the crystals they grow are $$$ so we don't get to play with those. Just filling up a pop bottle with the stuff and letting it go does get kind of old though too.

I have a dry ice bomb video, kids blow up tons of bottles with 'POD - here comes the boom' in the background. It 35 megs. Needs a host.

i was thinking the same thing, and then when it did finally explode the explosion would be a bit bigger 😀
