Wow they left under 18 year olds drive those type of cars... I'm heading to the Porsche/Jag/Aston/Infiniti/Mercedes dealership right now!!
It's all about attitude. If you act like a serious buyer, then you should have no problem.

Exactly.

Edit: FYI, don't dress like a teen!

Yeah, I went in with nice cargo pants (not huge pockets or sagging or anything) along with a stripped collar shirt tucked in and my nice watch I bought in India, very slim and silver in color. 😀

You or the watch?

Like I said, I will let one respected member here call and confirm. It is up to them whether they want to or not, I don't want my salesman to wonder why people are calling to confirm this! Either that, or if someone wants to meet me there, I will take them for a drive in it!

So someone who doesn't believe him make the call, he already gave out the location of the dealership.

Just to clarify, I edited it out since I don't want tons of people calling. However, a trusted/respected member can PM me and I will give information!

That's why they let you drive those cars. They figure your family has money or your parents will buy you the car.

Actually, no, when they ask about why I'm looking at cars, I usually point out I'm going to buy it myself

No, they don't, one saleman and I actually sat down for a few minutes just to talk about it, he was working in IT a few months ago

I can semi-vouch for the validity of this story. I am 16 andwent with a friend and tried this a while back. Got into a 330i, RX-8, and 350z. Got shut down by the STi guy, and didn't have the balls to try something like the 911. All it takes is some smooth talking, and a nice outfit.

I was shopping for a used 911 a year back (i'm 22 now) and if I could have actually drove a manual transmission at the time i probably could have drove a brand new 911 if I wanted. I went in there wearing a Lacoste polo, nice khaki shorts and birks and you'd be suprise just how much help they gave a 21 year old. The car I was there to look at was the cheapest the porsche dealer had on the lost (1982 930 Turbo) but they still showed me around. I was ready to buy that car but the dealer jerked me around so I promptly walked right out the door and they had that car sit on their lot for at least a few more months. I now will never even dream of going to the Porsche dealer in Westmont, IL, i'd drive to a different one first.

hell, when i was at a saab/mazda/lotus dealer they wouldnt let you drive an elise w/o a deposit down on the car. or so i heard.

and you cant touch prices with a salesman unless you are >18 so this story seems far fetched.

Good times. Now imagine driving those cars (which don't belong to you and probably will never afford) day in and day out under conditions no sane driver ever has to put a car into. Sometimes round and round at 30 mph with less than a foot of clearance outside the mirrors. Then squeezing them into tiny little spots in reverse, in the dark, quickly in one pass without hitting anything. Rinse and repeat. Its not so fun anymore is it.

Yes it is.

Exactly, wtf are you talking about freebee? Thats a harsh thing to say considering the s4 msrp is just over $50k and a used one can be had for around $40k with less than 15k miles on it.

..or you implying that its something you'll never be able to afford? 😕
