Not sure what model (4 door sedan?), but the lady I work with has one and let me drive it to deliver stuff today. All I can say is wow, very smooth and very peppy car! I can definitely say the next time I consider purchasing a new car I'll check out a Saab ;)

Anyone else drive one?

People who test drive a Saab, usually buy one.

EDIT: does it piss anyone else off that the above is Saab's OFFICIAL slogan, comma and everything, yet the comma totally shouldn't be there?

It's surprisingly true. I used to have a 84 900s and loved it. Ugliest vehicles ever (gives the Gremlin a run for its money), but I love 'em. :D

One thing that worry me about European cars overall is the cost of maintenance, once the warranty is over.

I drove a 9-3 turbo for a couple hundred miles through Arizona a few months ago. Nice, quick little cars.

Can you elaborate a little?
Maintenence costs on a saab have been historically higher than most other consumer cars.

About in line with Volvo, which is generally more than your german cars. There's one thing I don't like about Saab... who pays 50k for a 4 cylinder luxury car? Saab's envirofriendly love the earth, state of independance crap is just a little out of hand.

The Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan Aero is 32k. It has a 2.0L I4 producing 210hp. I'd rather have a BMW or Volvo with more power, and a bigger engine for the money. And if you don't care at all for refinement, but care only for horsepower, you could get a MUCH more powerful car from that other continent.

the only thing that really gets me about saabs is the saabonomics, i mean ergonomics, i mean lack thereof. for the love of god, put the ignition where it belongs.

WOW....I thought they used 6 cylinder engines. a 210hp I4 is pretty sweet. No wonder they are so light and quick.

you're kidding right? after driving my dad's car during break i'm trying to figure out why all cars don't have the ignition on the center console. on the side of the steering wheel is just plain stupid. if anything it should by to the right of the instrument panel, like the volvo

It has to do with TRADITION. The trademark of SAAB is 4 cyl turbo charged sedans. They were pioneers when they introduced the SAAB 99 Turbo back in '77.

If BMW can turbocharge their cars, then Saab can make some N\A 6 cylinders. My fear would be that they'd use a GM 6 cylinder.

My fear was always that I'd get crud in the ignition switch. Never did tho... Even WITH kids. :D
