The Yukon is looking better all the time. We just have to bide our time and be ready to pounce when the Canadian real estate bubble finally pops. Vancouverians will be lining up to dig the ditch for us.

I'm willing to vote "yes" if the invasion of Canada turned up on the ballot

California has always had water issues off and on... They have been robbing other states of their water for years.

This is not anything new or Global Warming. :\

Watering lawns, taking showers and washing cars isn't the issue, its agriculture. Farmers need to update/upgrade how they work -- they waste billions and billions of gallons of water.

Everyone in California could stop showering all together and it still wouldn't be enough.

"Even though we made bad choices and destroyed our own ability to live in this now-inhabitable place to live, let's invade a different, sovereign, allied country that has nothing to do with our problem, take their natural resources by force, and transport them back to our now-inhabitable place to live."

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic. Anyone who thinks that is actually a good idea is the dumbest piece of shit on earth.

It's very regional. So-Cal, Phoenix and Vegas have very different water uses than Central California. But I do agree, overall Ag uses up an overwhelming amount of it.

we've already built the aqueducts. there are no reasonable sources of water left for us to build them to.

the only thing left is desalination.

No worries, nobody is planning to invade Canada. They have a tank.

We're ready for you now, SoCal, so do your best.Remember tho to ditch those pointy sandals and SEAL tryout swim suits and to bring snow shoes and skates since our water be mostly freezed up. You'll love ice fishing and igloos.
In Ontario/Michigan Great Lakes area we could ship more water south but opening them gates risks importing your Asian fish which are a tremendous menace.
While Canucks respect winners on the ice the stats show Vancouver trounces LA regular now (watch'em Monday night) so in several respects, getting our water will be harder than you think.

Desalination is way more useful than a $5bn train to nowhere.

I would be for a public infrastructure investment into desalination in California. I would vote yes on that measure.
Exactly.

And the train to nowhere will definitely cost more than $5bn. Gov. Moonbeam at it again!

Or they have read their history and knows that this is generally what happens.

Yes that is correct. Might is right.

Thanks for the water! And the tank.

You can keep Quebec though.

All they have to do is get some of them solar powered pumps and pipe the output tube from the treatment plant back up to the reservoir. Bam! Free infinite water.

Ah, so you're the dumbest piece of shit on earth. Or you're being sarcastic. You decide.

lol. Ok you can keep the tank too; it can defend Quebec.

Except we want the cute Canadian girls. Just not the ones that speak French.

Okay, but hell no on Nova Scotia, bunch a weirdos up there.

That is some beautiful country, good fishing too. We could ship the weirdos to somewhere inhospitable, at least until we find use for that land as well. We have some precedent for that.

There's still plenty of room in Australia.
