Wow. In my day, when I was in college (mid/late 90s) there was a LOT of LSD going around. Lots of white blotter, occasional geltabs, leary hits, garcia tabs, you name it. This all faded away for two reasons. 1. Ecstacy 2. Insane sentences for LSD possession, manufacture, distribution. The chemists go where the money is and it's not in LSD anymore.
Besides, kids nowadays want to just feel high, they're scared of probing their inner consciousness. LSD is scary if you're not prepared or think it's some fun type of escapist high. Tripping your face off can be frightening if you have any sort of unresolved psychological conflicts going on. You need to be at peace with yourself and willing to go places you never dreamed of inside your own head.
It's something you only want to do a few times when you're young and stupid. There's really no time or place for it when you're older and have a family. Tripping properly requires you to have a full day off, preferably two, when you can sit in an environment you have full control over.
LSD is just one psychadelic. Shrooms are another and the experiences can be similar.
Read some Kesey or Leary and check out some of the facts on erowid. It's not for everyone.
