My venerable Antec TP2.0 550 watt PSU has been giving me problems over the last few weeks so I decided it was time to replace it and at the same time go with a modular cabling solution to clean up the case a little.

I was browsing Newegg for a PSU and ended up with the SeaSonic M12 SS-600HM which has great reviews. Somehow two Asus 8800 GTXs ended up in my shopping cart as well! Hehe. I also bought an XF-I sound card to replace my aging SB Live! 5.1 that I never was able to make work in Vista.

So everything should be arriving today and I'll put the new parts in tonight. :) My system is pretty fast right now (I think anyway) so it should fly once I have everything up and running.

My FX-60 is only six months old so I will be hanging onto it for a year or two. Besides right now I am GPU limited on everything I am playing games wise, which the GTXs will fix. Swapping out a new mobo/cpu/ram won't yeild that much better results for me to justify it right now (I know you are asking how I can say that after buying two GTXs hehe). I have been running stable @ 3.0 Ghz for a few months now, once I get my new Zalman cooler I will be looking for 3.4 GHz. Right now I am on stock cooling for the FX-60.

For someone with high end components like you I'd recommend the Tuniq Tower 120 or Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 over the Zalman heatsinks. Right now Newegg has a special on the tuniq for $45 with shipping in.

BTW, what monitor are you using? The reason why I ask is that I hope it is a 30 inch dell ;)

The TT is a nice product, no doubt.

I've have great experience with Zalman products and will be sticking with them.

Everything is put together. I loaded XP-64 bit because I have heard about SLI issues with Vista... this thing is incredibly fast now. :) I am happy.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Congrats once again. I should have my new Quad / 8800 system this weekend too. You can probably max out all your games at 2560x1600 with dual 8800GTXs.
