Dropped temps 10c idle 20!c load!!

I got a PNy 6800Gt and since ive had it it idles about 61-64 c 90+ on load

I just got done cleaning ram chips and core and reapplied silver compound.

Booted up and that program with the marbels on 16x temps ran 71c load

running 53c now on idle.

It was eay to do, so if anyone is having abnormal temps you should give it a try

oh and btw, that blue pny logo plate that covers the heatsink and fan, i left it off to allow more heat disapation and air flow.

now maybe i can get a better oc

Hmm, that cover plate should help cooling if anything since it directs the airflow thru the heatsinks...just like a car without a fan shroud around the ratidator runs hotter than one with a shroud.

I thought it was supposed to help carry heat away from the RAM
