Dropped my HF10 and cracked the LCD viewfinder!

Anyone have an idea how much this may cost to have repaired? The camera works perfectly but is kind of hard to use without access to the menus or seeing what is being taken. Zooming is futile.

The LCD lights up solid white with a crack diagonally across. The display looks like it would be easy to swap out but the camera is rather new on the market and locating this part is difficult. The warranty would be voided by DIY repairs. How good is Canon with repairs (speed wise). I'd like to have a functioning camera for the holidays.

Canon is speedy with repairs; contact them ASAP and you might get the camcorder back before Thanksgiving.

Thanks! I did this on their website and it looks like it will cost $157 to fix it. Seven biz days turn around. :Q

Canon is shifty....

I just got my 350D back from canon,I had a cracked inner LCD,the small monochrome one above the rear main LCD,Canon says $200 to fix it,I politely say kiss my grits....

So I figured I would check ebay for the part as canon says both of the rear LCD's are one unit at $80,I find this local guy that has a repair / parts store on ebay and is 15 miles down the road from me,so I call him up yesterday, drop it off last night and picked it up today and the grand total............$35 parts and labor.......

I highly recommend this guy, well there are 3 of them but they rock and know what they are doing.
