Went & looked at some 05's yesterday with a coworker who's trading up to an 05 GT. Didn't drive one 'cause the dealer neglected to tell us the only GT they had was an auto (coworker has told this salesman many times he only wants a stick).
Interior was a little disappointing, though it did not have the upgrade package. Sounds damn good though.
I was also surprised at how similar they looked to the current generation in person... The pictures seem to bring out the differences a lot more, in person while they look different it seems like a more logical progression/relationship.
Dealer wanted $3K over sticker, absolutely asinine. Sorry buddy, it's a Ford. Nice car, but it's a Ford. There'll be another 500K of them, yours is nothing special.

This is why
Blue = '05 Mustang GT, Red = '04 Mustang Mach1
Mind you this is Rear Wheel HP, so if you factor 15% losses through the tranny, that's nearly 320 HP at the flywheel!
Let's see an import do that for under $30K :beer:

Neon SRT-4 does pretty damn well for $21K.
Not an import obviously, but it's scary to see nearly 250 at the wheels from a $21K car.

Wasnt' the SRT dropped for '05 and replaced with the R/T version?
Unless they were severly under rated, my specs only show 230HP at the flywheel.
But still a fast car for an MSRP of $21k.

SRT-4 is still listed on Dodge's page, $21,195.
And yes, they are severely under rated. IIRC bone stock they were dynoing nearly 250 at the wheels.

Gotta love Ford and Dodge for underating both the '05 GT and the SRT-4 and giving you more HP than advertised. Must be a ploy to try to keep the insurance costs down :thumbsup:
Unlike some imports that barely reach their HP ratings...anyone remember the controversy with the RX-7 or was it the RX-8?
