i have an issue with calling remote controlled aircraft drones.

I know right? I've been thinking the same thing...

Suddenly because an RC aircraft can hover, its a "drone"? 😀 Pretty silly. I still call them quadcopters in general, but I do admit that "drone" sounds much cooler I guess.

I suppose it's the autonomous nature of them that causes them to be a "drone"? ie: gyrometers and accelerometers fed into a microcontroller that causes the aircraft to maintain stability without user input? Quite the contrast with the old style RC stuff where you control every aspect of them in the air.

This is now "viral" viral on pretty much every news site. So, I bothered to watch it.

Kid's got restraint. The lady's name is now smeared all over Google for life...

Edit: Oh ya, welcome to the future of Google Glass et al.

I have a quad with camera, and have gotten some really neat footage from up high, and down lower. I do not fly it anywhere near crowds, and think flying it over a *crowded* beach would make me look kinda creepy. I have wrap around sunglasses for that, lol
