Watched a couple of videos from previews this morning; this phone is looking very nice. Unfortunately none of the 'testers' actually try the device as a phone so I guess that aspect is still unknown.

I don't believe demo units are allowed to be activated, and thus can't make calls. However, I know review units have shipped out so I would expect to see calling impressions show up soon.

If only there was no bump and less bezel, this phone would be 99% perfect.

Get an iPhone if you want something slim, cute, shiny, and trendy that you can "accidentally" leave on the table and impress anyone who walks by.

I don't get people who would turn down a superior device strictly because it doesn't "look as cool". *wank wank*

Josh Topolsky from engadget was on fallon last night. He brought the Droid X and the iphone... you can pretty much guess which one gets ignored, other than the 'moving eye'. :\

Yeah I saw that. Jimmy busted on AT&T pretty hard though.

I have Jimmy recorded on the DVR, gonna HAVE to watch it now. Definitely want to see him bust on AT&T lol the other night one of his guests was talking about how she loved the iPad because it was an iPod for old people who can't see the small screen on the iPod.

Yea, When he asked how do you type on the phone, I am pretty sure he Jimmy knew there was swype on it and wanted to see it, but josh just gave some stupid answer "its too complicated" then he was like oh shit thats not something I should say.. then moves to the iphone and talks a ton on it.

Why don't you take your snide attitude elsewhere....
Physical attributes are important aspect when it comes to choosing a phone.
When you have several similar phones with big screen running Android, what else could be a determine factor...physical appearance. Now thats a concept.
If its not important to you, be it.
For others, its a determine factor.

i just hope the buldge was smartly engineered, optical quality of cameras has substantial physical constraints, such as CCD size, lens focal length, focusing mechanism.

My original Droid still has a mediocre camera, like any other phone, I am ok with sacrificing a little bit of form factor for really good photos.

from the pics I've seen the camera looks to be much better than the original Droid. Also from what I've read the hump is a non issue (obviously this is a personal opinion thing though). Looks interesting though.

Yea the pics and video look good

here is a giggle

So the Droid 2 is pretty much confirmed to come out in Aug, I guess it will come pre-loaded with 2.2 Froyo.

I just need to wait another month I guess.
