Driving Test

Tomorrow , I am taking my driving test, and writen. I was wondering, how hard is the driving test in Indiana and the written? What are some tips, and what can I expect? I am taking my driving test at my driiving school (Pay 30 bucks to take it) , then going to the Bureau to take the written.

I failed the written because I never even cracked the "book". I took it again 15 minutes later and passed... without cracking the "book". It's a crapshoot as far as ease of questions. If I were you, I'd crack the "book". 😉

As for the driving... it's easy as long as you remain calm. On the parallel parking - reverse in slowly... if you bump the curb and ya hardly feel it... no big deal... may feel like you hit the brake to the tester. It's not an automatic fail. Take your time... there's no time limit.

From what I've heard:

The test is 50 questions and they're mostly common sense and sign identification.

The driving test itself is supposedly a joke.

I'll be reading for the other replies as well, as I plan on taking mine later this summer in the same state 😛

If driver's ed was even the slightest bit complicated, plan to fail.

If you sat there and thought to yourself "duh." most of the time, then it should be easy.

It shouldn't be too hard.

Indiana???? haha, you fvcking kidding me? The written p[art is easy as hell, just remember to use common sense, uncommon sense with the idiots on the road. Anyway, it's really simple, don't get stuck on a question, answer based on first guess/answer you have, don't try analyzing them too much. If you aren't sure, skip it, move on. As for the driving part, I took it from the Driver's ed company, it was easy as hell, had me parallel park, drive for 2 or 3 minutes, and I was back. As for the BMV test, no clue

Here's an example of a questoin I remember since it was a quesotin an idiot missed and it was his 7th time taking it, he was pissed at grader, anyway:

If a traffic light is not functioning properly and an officer is directing traffic, you should:
A) Keep going
B) Follow instructions from officer
C) Stop and wait till it is clear
D) None of the above

If you struggle on that, read the book, otherwise just take it

Yeah the Indiana driver test is incredibly easy. Almost all of the questions are common sense but still read through the book once or twice. I think I got a question about tandem axle weight that I missed (the only one I missed). There are 5 different forms and luckily I got the easy one (form C). You can miss one sign question and 2 or 3 of the actual question questions. The driving test was easy, just make sure you go under the speed limit. The lady told me as soon as she got in the car that if I went over the speed limit then I failed. I went like 5-10 under the whole time 🙂

It's not a joke. It's a practical assessment of the real-world application of learned rules and uses.

No, I use the schools car. What's a good car for a teen driver?

You're taking driving test from driver's ed? That's the simplest driving test ever, it's just parallel park, drive around, come back to school, I did it in 6 or 7 minutes total.

Also, if you're looking for a car for yourself, make a seperate post with price range and how long you plan to keep it

I meant joke as in easy. Not joke as in haha funny. Unless we're talking about haha funny easy.

anyway,

as in later this summer, I meant whenever I get around to going 😛 I could have gotten my license like 5½ months ago.

Man.. you guys have it easy. Up here in Vancouver (BC), we have to take at least 3 tests over 3 years before we can fully drive on our own :|

Too many speeding ricers :|

Just took the driving test, no mistakes. I am going to take the written in a hr or so. Do my parents have to be there with me?

good luck.

and the written test isn't that difficult. I studied the book for an hour and a half and passed.

driving tests are a joke...anyone and their baby toddler can pass.

you want a real test, go to Germany 😉
