Fine.

I am headed towards an intersection at night with a green light. It looks like a 4 way intersection as usual. Though when I reach the intersection, I see two big do-not-enter signs on the other end. So I hit the brakes hard to to turn right. The cops heard my tires squeal from the brake and issued a careless driving ticket. Other than the do-not-enter signs on the other side of the intersection, there was nothing before reaching the intersection that indicated right and left turn only. Maybe I was spoiled all this time from townships who did more than what was legally required to safely notify the driver the other side of a intersection did not permit entry. Obviously if oncoming traffic were coming through at 12 Midnight I would of known better but the ghost was clear.

The cop thought I was drunk because the time of night and I was coming back from the beach on labor day. I spent one hour of my day following a fucking pen in the air with my big ass feet pointed at him. I was humble and polite and did not argue with him. He went light on me for also not giving me a ticket for not using my directional, but that is sour grapes cause he knew I did not know I could only turn left or right at the intersection.

And to make shortylicken's day, he made me say my ABC's, which I barely passed .
If it were me I would go to court on this and in your nicest good-citizen persona (I'm not sure you have one but maybe you can work that up if you think about it), explain to the judge why circumstances more than anything brought about this incident. Many if not most judges would (if so convinced), dismiss the ticket, after maybe blessing you with some statement.

Maybe with a driving course.
