Driving and talking on phone (Droid). Headset/mic to avoid driving ticket?

The speaker phone volume is too low.
Also, I hate those "iPod" earpiece things that jam into your ear.
Can anyone suggest a link for some sort of vlaue priced earpiece/mic?
Ebay? Thanks. (Droid Incredible 2)

droid usually refers to "motorola droid" FYI. Droid Inc2 would be the abbrev that most will be familiar with for your phone.

Bluetooth.

What state do you live, in why would you get a ticket for talking on the phone? Just talk safe and drive safe and you should be fine...

Because in some States it illegal to talk without a hands free device.

If you do a lot of it, the BT adapter with FM transmitter rocks. I have the Motorola T505 and it's sweet, will scan and pick an open FM channel, tune to that and your music, nav, phone etc goes through your car stereo, and it has a mic that works perfectly.

do you have one in particular you can link? this is exactly what I've been looking for...for music at least. A kia I rode in had bluetooth audio it was great I didn't have to plug in an aux jack or anything just jump into car it syncs up and hit play.

I still don't get how people manage with BT. You have to leave BT on all day or have to switch it on and off, and it's annoying to remember everytime you step into a car. But I guess that's still just as annoying as plugging in my phone to my speakers everytime I step in my car.... except if I forget BT then there's massive battery drain....

Well with widgets it extremely easy to turn on/off on your phone. I never really forget but it's not a huge battery drain if nothing is using it.

Not too bad of a battery drain, plus I usually only fire it up if I am planning on some phone calls on a long enough drive.

Don't.

Hands free cellphone usage has been shown to be just as unsafe as just talking on the phone. The cognitive load of carring on a phone conversation impairs driving regardless of whether or not it's hands free.

If you're driving, please focus on driving, even if it means avoiding calls. It makes everyone a little bit more safe.

Lame.

edit: it's only 9, that's definitely not 17

Read the footnotes, too. In one way or another, there are 17 states with SOME restrictions (Maybe not everyone).

JD50, how do you figure thats lame? I've been a paramedic for 29 years, and if I had a buck for every accident caused by cellphone usage in one way or another, I'd retire tomorrow. 30-40% or our accidents now are caused by cell inattention...
