Hi, using PerfectDisk 2000 under WinXP pro.

for example, C: , after defragmentation, 30 files are still fragment, 0.5%

is this normal? can't it totally "unfragment"?

is Diskeeper better? i just can't install the shareware version to try... stuck in the welcome(orientation) sreen.

Well most of the time, it is nearly impossible to make it 100% defragmented because the program itself needs to run and it cannot rearrange the program files while in use. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you make the swap file size a fixed size(you choose size) then it will able to be done on defrag.

in fact, i did set the size to initial and max size to 300MB each drive execpt the last one. C: D: E: not F:

when defragmenting, the swapfile is in "black" becasue it will not be moved or what so ever it will not be optimized i believe.

C: is where my WinXP and some recent downloaded programs.
D: is for games and applications
E: is for MP3 and older downloaded programs.
F: is for more MP3 and more older downloaded programs and backup.

thanks

i have a WD800JB. 80GB w/ 2MB cache
