drivers on mce 2005

XP Pro video drivers will work fine on MCE. The main difference between these and MCE drivers is that the MCE drivers typically include a 10ft UI, so you can view driver properties from within the Media Center app.

Some of the drivers have media center specific features (used within the Media Center application). I've been running MCE 2005 for a couple years now and I always use the XP Pro drivers. Doesn't really make a difference though, the MCE drivers don't get updated as often though.

Microsoft considers MCE a "home" O/S, and for business applications, MS XP Pro.
You can do all the things XP Pro can do, video and the like.

another question is, how many more years of support will mce2005 have, i have heard that it will be 2 years as opposed to pro's 5 years

Mainstream support for XP MCE will end two years after the release of Vista, same as all other versions of XP.
