Driver question for when my 7900 gt arrives today.

My current video card is a 6800 GTo with forceware 81.98 drivers. Aren't those the same drivers that my 7900 gt will use? If so, do I just pull out one card and install the other? Or, do I still need to uninstall the drivers and then reinstall same ones after new card is in? This could be a stupid question, but any help would be appreciated.

By the way, my new card is an eVGA 7900GT CO Superclocked. I'm hoping I'll see a pretty decent performance increase.

I'd take the 10-15 minutes to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers to make sure that drivers aren't your problem if you run into any issues. That's what I did when I upgraded from a 6600GT to a 7800GT.

Are those the ones with the greatly improved FEAR performance? Maybe I'll try them then.
What else is improved besides FEAR, though? Just curious.

Also, why does official nVidia site say 81.98 is the most recent?

Well, I just downloaded 84.20. I won't get a chance to try them until tonight, though.

I've already installed the 84.21 so I should be able to just swap out the cards right? 6800gt to 7900gt.

The answer is No. Didn't work for me. I had to un-install & re-install anyway.
