Driver Probs with WinXP & Ti200

hi,
i seem to be having severe driver probelms with winXP.
when i install any drivers other than the 21.85 creative labs branded drivers, windows refuses to show me the advanced driver option tabs.
i`ve tryed the new creative drivers (27.50), the drivers that came with XP and all the nVidia drivers from version 20. but none solve the problem. only the creative 21.85 does'nt have the problem.

WHY IS THIS

it happenned with my old GTS card and now my Ti200 (both 3D Blasters, MSI manufactured).
my friend has the same probelm with his GF2MX400 PCI.

how can i fix this, i dont understand what the probelm is, unless windows has fallen in love with the 21.85 drivers!!!

Have you ever had any other video card besides nVidia in your motherboard before? You'll have problems with your nVidia card if you don't FULLY uninstall previous video drivers from a non-nVidia solution (ATi for example).

Go to nVidia's web site and download the 23.11 drivers. You shouldn't have any problems. If you do, you need to explain it in more detail in this thread. Exactly what types of problems are you encountering with non-21.85 drivers? Random crashes, freezes, infinite loops?

Also, what's the big deal about staying with the 21.85 drivers? If they work, use them. Is there some feature in the 23.11 drivers that the 21.85 drivers don't have? You do know that there is no performance difference between the 21.85 and 23.11 drivers, yes?

I couldn't get any drivers installed when I first got my Ti200. I have a VIA chipset mother board and the fix was to get the latest 4in1 driver set. XP only wants the 4in1 '.inf' file, but that fixed it for me. Try it if your system has a VIA chipset.

i had the same trouble with my GTS card.
the only probelm is no advanced tabs, like the colour corection, device selection and the geforce3 TI200 tabs.

i`ve only ever had nVidia card(apart from 3 years ago with a completely different pc when i had 32mb Savage4 PCI)

becides, since upgrading to a Ti200, i have formatted my HD. and upgraded to XP during that process from Me(Me before hd format, Xp clean install after).
the drivers do install, but i dont get the tabs in display propeties.

3dm2001, RivaTuner and SiSoft Sandra all say that the 27.50s are installed, but no tabs. when i have the 21.85s installed then there are no probelms whatsoever.

RiVa Tuner reports that a couple of driver files are missing but the card works fine apart from the tabs problem. only with the 21.85s do all the files reports correctly installed.
