Hey guys,

I'm using a BFG 6800 GT, but whenever I try to use anything from the 70.xx series, I get constant freeze ups in games. I have to revert back to the 66.81 drivers, which are more stable. However, I'd like to find the root of the problem so I can take advantage of the current drivers. Any ideas?

I'd try out the 77.72's first, they are the newest and I got 6800gt as well and they work just fine. Also when you do install theses make sure you check out my post Here for how to fix the color disorders on video playback.

Beats me, never seen this problem before, try to RMA the card and get either a new one or a different brand of 6800gt.

I e-mailed BFG and here was their response:

Paul,

Is that board an nForce 3 chipset? If so this may be where your problem lies, the nForce 3 chipset will not accept the 77 drivers under a 68 series cards. It is an issue that nVidia is looking into and should be resolved in the next release of your chipset drivers.

Thank you for your request.

Only problem is that it isn't only the 77.xx drivers giving me problems, it's also all of the 7x.xx series. Guess I'll have to RMA it :(
